Hot Springin’ in Hanmer Springs

Hot Springin’ in Hanmer Springs

On a cool and rainy day I thought nothing could be better than a visit to some hot pools in order to warm up and relax. Hanmer Springs is on the Eastern coast of New Zealand’s South Island and is an awesome place to hang out, especially if it’s chilly. The drive into Hanmer Springs was beautiful – the colours and mountains made me feel like I was in a Bob Ross painting.

The pools range from 36 to 42 degrees Celsius. Some are spa-like, while others are natural geothermic hot springs with minerals. The only thing with the mineral springs is that they reek of sulfur . . . but it’s all natural so as long as you don’t mind the smell, then those are the ones that are best!
